Out-Of-Network means that we do not bill insurance companies. Our services are self-pay, with  clients billed at time of service and responsible for all upfront payments. However, we do offer monthly “superbill” documentation that can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement if you are eligible. 

Superbills include the bare-minimum information that is required by insurance companies, including a single diagnosis code, session date and fee, procedure code, therapist credentials, and practice information. The content of sessions remains protected and is not shared.

At Authentic Therapy Services, we recognize that systemic inequities impact access to care for many within our communities, and believe therapy should not be reserved only for those with financial privilege. We offer a need-based sliding scale that is intended to reduce financial barriers for clients who are not able to afford our standard fees, in order to increase accessibility to affirming care while ensuring fair compensation to our team of neurodivergent and queer providers. These reduced-fee spots are limited, and offered based on financial need, availability, and practice capacity.

Clients are encouraged to consider the Green Bottle Sliding Scale model of financial privilege, and to discuss their needs for reduced-fee services during their initial consultation.

Yes, you can use a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for individual therapy and online counseling. However, relationship counseling services are generally not covered.

If you are using a Flexible Spending Account, your monthly superbills can be used to meet the claim documentation requirements.
