New Neurodivergence Assessment Options Beginning in Fall 2026
We believe that gender affirming care is life saving care, and our assessment process is structured to remove as many barriers as possible for trans, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming adults located in Pennsylvania or Maryland who are seeking gender-affirming medical services.
Aligned with the standards of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), our assessments adhere to the informed consent model by prioritizing bodily autonomy and centering each individual as an expert on their own experiences.

Gender affirming care letter assessments are conducted via telehealth and are generally completed in one 60 minute session, unless further follow-up is indicated to clarify details for your referral letter.
Topics cover information required by the World Professional Association on Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards of Care 8 (SOC8), including details related to your gender journey, transition goals, mental health, current support system, and understanding of the risks involved with any given procedure(s). These assessments are not about “proving” your identity or internal sense of self.
We adhere to the informed consent healthcare model, which emphasizes a client’s self-knowledge, self-determination, and ability to make informed decisions about their medical care in collaboration with their surgeon or other providers. We also acknowledge the inherent power dynamics of this process, and strive to minimize gatekeeping to every extent possible.
Following completion of the assessment session, a copy of the care referral letter will be uploaded within 48-72 hours. Clients are able to review their letter for any needed edits or changes as needed.
Our assessments are offered at reduced rates of $75-$125, with no requirements of ongoing counseling. These fees are intended to help us reduce financial barriers while also sustainably expanding access for our communities. All clients receive the same assessment process and support, regardless of their self-selected payment tier.
Due to scheduling limitations, clients in need of more urgent appointments will be charged our practice’s standard hourly rate of $150.
Consistent with the values and mission of the Gender Affirmative Letter Access Project (GALAP), we are committed to providing a minimum of one pro bono assessment and letter writing service a month to ensure all clients have access to needed care. These pro bono openings are offered based on self-determined financial need, and we do not ask for any verification of your financial circumstances.
