What made you want to specialize in Neurodiversity and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy?
My first hand experiences with discrimination, alienation, and other barriers against my general well being, solely due to sexual orientation, propelled me towards seeking safe spaces for our community. It is truly saddening to witness and be subject to unjust division within and outside of our community. This ignited a flame within me to provide that safe space in order to contribute to the well being of the LGBTQIA+ as well as the Neurospicy community. Creating a caring environment where clients feel free to be themselves, receive genuine support, and work through their concerns is most important to me.
What do your experiences mean for potential clients?
It is essentially important that everyone struggling can feel heard, understood, and have safe spaces to release, challenge negative patterns, and gain support. My goal in becoming a therapist initially, now, and forever - is to be a safe haven for others to know that they are not alone, and that they don’t have to deal with things on their own. I want people to feel that they have support, and it is such an honor for me to be able to support them. We will work through challenges, question beliefs and thought patterns, process and work towards releasing guilt and/or healing from past traumatic experiences. A main goal of mine is to help you to come back home to yourself, and remember the awesomeness that you intrinsically and naturally are.
