...What’s with the spoons?

Spoon Theory is a metaphor used within disability and neurodivergent communities to illustrate the amount of physical and mental energy available to navigate daily activities, tasks, stressors, and demands. Neurodiversity-affirming therapy can provide a safe and supportive environment for understanding these needs, allowing clients to practice self-compassion, engage in self-advocacy, and live in ways that better protect their energy resources and overall wellbeing.

NEW CLIENTS

How to Get Started

_
Complete Our Contact Form

To ensure the best client and therapist fit, we ask that all prospective clients complete our practice’s Secure Contact Form. Our clinical team will review your information in order to determine how we can best offer support.

Based on the feedback from our clinical team, our administrative assistant will follow-up via email with more information on the next steps, including options for scheduling a free 15 minute consultation.

*If we do not have an available provider or find we are not the right fit, we will make every effort to provide referrals to providers who are better aligned with your needs.

_
Schedule Your Consultation

If matched with an available therapist, our administrative assistant will provide a link to schedule your free 15 minute consultation through our practice’s online booking portal.

Your free consultation offers an opportunity to expand on your current goals, ask questions regarding our practice or your therapist’s approaches, and discuss anything else that would help ensure a good therapeutic fit. These consultations are typically conducted via a brief telehealth video session, but phone consultations are available upon request.

If you and your therapist decide to move forward, your therapist will offer to schedule a date and time for your initial session. There is no pressure if more time is needed to decide – We can always follow-up with you!

_
Initial Intake Session

After meeting for your consultation and scheduling a date and time for your initial session, you will receive two separate emails:

  1. An email from our administrative assistant with your confirmed appointment information, instructions to complete our intake forms, and a link to access your first counseling session.
  2. An emailed invitation from our telehealth platform Simple Practice, with a link to login to your client portal, setup payment information, confirm your preferred methods of communication, and complete our practice’s intake forms ahead of your initial session.
